LEAF AND BRUSH PICK UP

  Good evening Kirkside Residents, The upcoming leaf and brush collection for our neighborhood is scheduled for Friday, October 25th, 2024. Please place all sacks and bundles curbside by 7 a.m., ensuring each item weighs less than 40 lbs. CURBSIDE COLLECTION GUIDELINES : 1. A maximum of 20 sacks and/or bundles is allowed. 2. Only paper sacks are permitted. 3. Duct tape is not to be used. 4. No trash is allowed. 5. Brush must be bundled to 4'x2' dimensions using twine only. - If a collection is missed, please call 311 within 24 hours to report it. Thank you! Kirkside Homes Association

2ND SPRING CLEANUP DROP-OFF

  The second Spring Cleanup drop-off event is scheduled for June 29, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, open to all KCMO residents. There will be two free drop-off locations in south Kansas City for discarding unwanted items during this time. The initial drop-off location at Ruskin High School's east parking lot, located at 7000 E. 111th St., will accept a wide range of items, including bulky objects like old furniture, leaves and brush, tires (with or without rims), trash, and various household hazardous wastes such as automotive products (antifreeze and used oil), batteries, household cleaners, and lawn and garden chemicals like herbicides, pesticides, and paint. An additional drop-off site has been established at Center Academy for Success, 8434 Paseo, which will accept all items that Ruskin does, excluding household hazardous waste. Furthermore, a specialized drop-off event dedicated solely to household hazardous waste, which often requires proper disposal methods, is now set for July 2...

BULKY ITEMS

 The City of Kansas City offers bulky item pickup by appointment, which can be scheduled by calling 311. You may place bulky items on the curb the day before your scheduled appointment. If items are observed by our restrictions committee for more than 48 hours, a letter will be issued from the Homes Association. 2024 Trash and Recycling Holiday Schedule and No-Tag Weeks

  No collection occurs on the following  2024  holidays: Martin Luther King Jr. Day - Jan. 15th (one day delay all week) Presidents Day - Feb. 19th (one day delay all week) Memorial Day - May 27th (one day delay all week) Juneteenth - Wednesday, June 19th (No collection on Wednesday. Trash will be delayed Wednesday through Saturday) Independence Day - July 4th (No collection on Thursday. Friday collection will take place on Saturday) Amnesty Week/No-tag pickup will run Friday, July 5th to Wednesday, July 10th during regular collection. 12 bags will be collected. Labor Day - Sept. 2nd (one day delay all week) Veterans Day - Nov. 11th (one day delay all week) Thanksgiving Day - Nov. 28th, Thursday collection will take place on Friday.
